Key Reminders for 2026/27: JCQ Regulations for Access Arrangements - FREE Webinar (KR)

This free webinar is for anyone who would appreciate a short session offering Key Reminders on JCQ regulations relating to Access Arrangements for 2026/27.

You can register by booking online below. For those unable to make Wednesday 2nd September at 7pm, please do not book the live webinar as it blocks others from attending. Instead you can book to view the recording you will be sent a link on 4th September instead.

This webinar will focus on Key Reminders for 2026/27 regarding the JCQ document ‘Access Arrangements and Reasonable Adjustments (AARA)’.

The JCQ are not releasing any changes to the AARA for 2026/27, but released changes in September 2025 and March 2026.

Nick Lait, Head of Examination Services at the JCQ, together with Caroline Read from Communicate-ed, will present key reminders for guidance for exam access arrangements for the 2026/27 academic year. This will be followed by a brief Q&A session. It is recommended that you follow this up by attending a longer refresher course which covers the practical application of last year’s changes, real-world decision-making, evidence gathering and inspection readiness in more depth. Caroline Read

Caroline is a Specialist Teacher who has practical experience in all areas of the Access Arrangements process and trains for LAs, Universities and SEN Services. Caroline contributed to the PATOSS/JCQ publication ‘Dyslexia: Assessing the need for Access Arrangements’, has been published in academic journals and has worked with various publishers to develop tests. She was part of the working party which set up ‘Access Arrangements Online’ and has been involved with other DfE and Ofqual training and policy projects.

Nick Lait

Nick Lait is Chair of the JCQ Special Requirements Committee. His responsibilities include the production of JCQ documents relating to examination administration, such as the JCQ publication Access Arrangements and Reasonable Adjustments and Instructions for Conducting Examinations. Nick provides advice and guidance to schools and colleges, predominately on access arrangements. He has a thorough knowledge of the examination administration system having previously worked with Edexcel for 11 years, in both UK and International exam operations, taking a lead role in the development of Access Arrangements Online.
