The latest JCQ ‘Instructions for Conducting Exams’ document states that a training session on the current regulations must be held for any new invigilators and those facilitating an access arrangement in exams. An annual update meeting must be held for the existing invigilation team. Centres must ensure that all exam support staff are rigorously tested for competence and understanding of the current regulations. Each of our courses include an online assessment of understanding.
Training for Invigilators in Exams for General Qualifications is intended for training Exam Invigilators. It introduces the ‘Instructions for Conducting Examinations’ booklet in depth to explain Invigilators’ responsibilities.
Training for Readers, Scribes, Invigilators and other Adult Helpers in Exams is intended for all those supporting candidates in exams for General Qualifications (e.g. readers/scribes). It explains the regulations and helps staff to understand their role in the exam. Includes a practical video of a reader/scribe at work with a candidate.
Combined Course Offer gives delegates access to both courses for the same login period at a reduced price.
The Update Courses for Experienced Invigilators/Exam Helpers are intended for experienced invigilators or exam helpers who have received previous training and are confident they remember that training. These are short training courses that briefly refresh knowledge but focus on any changes/updates to the JCQ requirements from the previous year. As with the full courses above, each login includes one assessment for delegates to demonstrate their knowledge.
You will have 10 days from the start date you choose to login and view both courses
You can run the course as many times as you want within this 10 day period, and there is no maximum number of delegates who can watch the course as a group for the course fee. 3 email logins are included within the course price. If you require more logins because you would like individuals to access the training separately or to have their own assessment and certificate, additional logins can be purchased at the time of booking (see course pages for pricing). Each login comes with its own assessment. If you fail your first attempt at the assessment, it will allow you one more attempt.
By adding access until the end of the academic year, you can run the course as often as you wish, up until 31st July. Again there is no maximum number of delegates who can watch the course as a group for the course fee.
All delegates must all be from your school or college, you can’t use the course to train staff or exam helpers from other centres. We do not provide individual certificates for delegates watching the course as a group, but on request we can provide a certificate for the course confirming that the centre accessed the training (for JCQ inspection purposes). Every delegate whom you purchase a login for will receive access to the assessment and a certificate for their CPD file if they pass.
